L'Ancien Chai - the gite

The house (or gite) L'Ancien Chai is situated on the edge of a small group of privately owned properties. The houses comprise a renovated farm with L'Ancien Chai having magnificent views to the south, west and east.

There is a securely-fenced, large shared pool (14 metres x 4 metres) in the extensive grounds. The swimming pool is open from the end of May to the end of September. There is also a tennis court and tennis rackets are provided.

Parking is available adjacent to the house.

 This is a non-smoking residence. Sorry, no pets.

L'Ancien Chai is 15 minutes stroll from the village of Lusignac where there is a lively restaurant bar serving meals. Shops can be found in Verteillac 6km away. The market town of Riberac with "Leclerc" supermarket is 11 km away. Bergerac, with its airport is an hour's drive to the south, with Periguex 34 km to the east. Bordeaux and the wine regions are to the west.

L'Ancien Chai - the accommodation

L'Ancien Chai accommodates up to 8 guests in comfort. The house has recently been refurbished and re-equipped to a high standard.

The ground floor is open plan with a large kitchen opening onto a dining area and beyond to the sitting room.

French windows lead from the lounge, dining room and kitchen to the patio. Also on this floor are two bedrooms (one large double, one good-sized twin), bathroom/shower/WC and utility room.

The ground floor is wheelchair accessible.

On the first floor, there are two further bedrooms. One good-sized double; one good-sized twin. All have excellent views over the countryside. There is a large landing and second bathroom/shower/WC.

All bedrooms have fitted wardrobes except the ground floor double, which has a free-standing wardrobe.

L'Ancien Chai - Facilities

Our approach has been to make the house as comfortable and homely as possible with everything you need to help you relax and have a great holiday.

There is a fully equipped kitchen including electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, washing machine, clothes airer, iron and ironing board.

Bed linen is provided, as well as towels (house use only, please provide your own poolside towels).

There is garden and patio furniture and a barbeque. There are also 4 adult bicycles for you to borrow.

In the lounge there is a video and DVD monitor/player with a large selection of videos and DVDs. The TV is to play the videos and DVDs. We do not have satellite nor terrestrial TV connection. There is a midi system for CDs and tapes. Board games, jigsaws and books are provided.

A wood stove heater is fitted, making the house very cosy.

For those with children, cots and highchairs are available on request.
